Relationship of ENSO (El Niño – Southernoscillation ) and monsoon index on variability of rainfall and sea surface height in coastal City Semarang, Central Java

The city of Semarang is one the coastal areas in Indonesia that prone to flooding. Flood events often occur City area can be triggered by high rainfall. Variations rainfall and sea level are closely related global atmospheric circulation such as ENSO regional circulation, Monsoon. This study aims examine relationship between Monsoon with distribution from 2012 2021. Correlation composite analysis were used analyze impact phenomena on level. results showed strong correlation index (Southern Oscillation Index) JJA SON periods. Generally, El Niño (La Niña) has an increasing (decreasing) Meanwhile, Australian Summer Index (AUSMI) only strongly correlates period. westerly (eastern) wind indicated a positive (negative) monsoon period effect (reducing) phenomenon during relationship. In JJA, highest (maximum tide) rises 12.6 cm decreases 0.6 La Niña. lowest (minimum low decreased 16.6 increased 0.7 These explain influence local scale coast City.Keywords:RainfallSea levelEl NiñoLa NiñaMonsoon
